Dr. Laurie Ellis-McLeod is a SAIL Professional Service Member and owner of AERIE Preferred Financial Group. She offers an informal opportunity to ask financial or related questions.

Ask Laurie is a 30-minute virtual session that takes place the second Wednesday of every other month. Last month’s topic focused on IRA questions. Some points that were covered included Secure Act 2.0 legislation changes.
• The age at which participants must begin taking distributions from their retirement accounts jumps from 72 to 73 beginning January 1, 2023 and to 75 in 2033.
• Inherited IRA’s (including ROTH IRAs) must be fully distributed within 10 years of the deceased date of death if that occurred after 2020.
