Being in The Right Place

Part one: Presenter: Darcie Olson

This workshop will examine the reasons why people choose to live where they live. The interactive session will feature a home assessment tool that will highlight recommendations for accessibility and safety. During the workshop, participants will examine their own motivations for staying in place or making a change.

Part two: Presenter: Patrice Blanchard

This workshop will take a look at “new” living options and examine creative ways to help you stay where you are longer, wherever that may be. Participants will gain knowledge about key terms and services, triggers forcing change, and some basic cost information that’s helpful in evaluating options. Break-Out tables will give participants a chance to choose personal areas of interest for more in-depth discussions.

Part three: Presenter: Galen Metz

This workshop will introduce the Decision Toolkit (DECIDE) to evaluate the best fit between a person’s current residence vs. that residence’s potential with upgrades vs. moving to a completely new residence. This workshop will use several case studies for an interactive session. From evaluation, the session will transition into planning and taking action, using SMART goal setting.
