About this event
This workshop will take a look at “new” living options and examine creative ways to help you stay where you are longer, wherever that may be. Participants will gain knowledge about key terms and services, triggers forcing change, and some basic cost information that’s helpful in evaluating options. Break-Out tables will give participants a chance to choose personal areas of interest for more in-depth discussions.
Presenter Patrice Blanchard, MSc., has worked as a Gerontologist for almost 40 years. Her most recent research focuses on quality-of-life as we age, especially the concept of 'aging-in-place.' Before retiring from AARP after 17 years' employment, she was the Executive Director of the Southwest Society on Aging. Patrice continues to teach Gerontology courses online for Western Kentucky University (WKU). She has been a hospice volunteer, a "friendly visitor" at nursing homes, and has served on two retirement community Boards of Directors.
This workshop is part of
SAILing into the future! The workshops are designed to introduce you to the critical components of an aging plan and are interactive sessions led by local professionals.
