About this event
This workshop will examine the reasons why people choose to live where they live. The interactive session will feature a home assessment tool that will highlight recommendations for accessibility and safety. During the workshop, participants will examine their own motivations for staying in place or making a change.
Presenter Darcie Olson, PhD, OTR is a retired occupational therapist and instructor at Madison College. She is a member of Falls Free Dane, a coalition focused on keeping older adults safe. Darcie is the Wisconsin CarFit Coordinator for AARP, working with older drivers on their "fit" in their cars. She is currently teaching Parkour Senior classes to older adults for Madison School and Community Recreation. Her other volunteer activities include conducting Safe at Home visits for AgeBetter and participating in programs designed to keep older individuals fit and enjoying life to the fullest.
