This Months Book is Sitting Pretty: The View from My Ordinary Resilient Disabled Body by Rebekah Taussig

This book is a first person account of what life was like growing up in the body of a physically disabled person. It includes the author’s experiences with teaching about disabilities and the prejudices and assumptions she encountered.

The SAIL Book Club is open to all members of SAIL and meets on the third Wednesday of each month virtually. Please register online at SAIL or call if that’s not possible. Books are chosen by Book Club members that are readily available at the library and have been read and recommended by a member of the SAIL Book Club. The next book is available after each discussion or delivered to you if needed.
